About Dr Egg’s MindSkiller®
Our Story
It began ten years ago when psychiatrist A/Prof Gary Galambos identified a lack of quality mental health education for the increasing number of people seeking guidance online.

From the clinic to an online platform
Working closely with his patients at Uspace, St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney’s young adult mental health service, Gary developed a collection of specialist-grade resources for those seeking to help themselves and understand the language of mental health.
“I became interested in filling that gap and working with patients, aged mainly 16–25, in developing these resources. They were basically letting me know that they were wanting me to put this online.”
An ecosystem of innovation
Under Gary’s vision and the commitment of his growing team, MindSkiller evolved into a service specialising in helping mental health services to innovate. The interventions researched and developed by MindSkiller include:
- A state-wide MRI-guided Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) program delivered from radiology clinics
- A Virtual Reality Mindfulness and Exposure Therapy program
- A person-centred shared care program including outcome measures and clinical care pathways
What emerged from these projects was an ecosystem of mental health care interventions.
From education to workplace mental health
Gary soon discovered that his medical students and trainee psychiatrists loved the eLearning modules, so he offered them as an online training program — including certificates in Mental Health Literacy for any clinician, mentor or coach wanting to improve their knowledge.
The next chapter was a WH&S care pathway for any organisation wanting to look after the mental health of its employees. The MindSkiller Risk Management Solution gives organisations the tools to manage the risks of psychosocial hazards in the workplace and demonstrate compliance with their WH&S obligations.
Why was MindSkiller® developed?
MindSkiller® was designed to fill gaps in existing mental health services — aligned with Australia’s National Digital Health Strategy and contemporary specialist healthcare values, models and research. Three core design features make that possible:
Trans-diagnostic
Addresses any diagnosis — explaining the overlap between “mental disorders”, “mental health” and “mental fitness”.
Trans-modal
Addresses any treatment — covering the biological, psychological and social treatment modalities used by different types of mental health clinicians, including medications, psychotherapies and lifestyle factors.
Trans-cultural
Addresses any type of user — a visual, theme-based “language” that is understandable to laypeople, general practitioners, psychiatrists and all types of psychotherapists.
How has MindSkiller® been designed?
To keep users motivated to learn, MindSkiller® eLEARNING is built on autonomous-learning principles — it has to be useful, interesting and engaging. That is why every unit is designed with three core ingredients:
Who is MindSkiller® for?
Self-Helpers
Anyone looking for sophisticated Self-Help — learn an imagery-rich “language” to improve mental health self-awareness, understand which strategies and interventions you may benefit from, and pass your skills on by becoming a Mentor.
Help-Seekers
Anyone interested in seeking support and guidance from Help-Providers — at any point on the MindSkiller journey, including while working through the eLEARNING program.
Help-Providers
Clinicians, mentors and coaches interested in recommending quality digital services, providing online clinical support, and professional self-development to improve their knowledge and coping skills when helping others.
